The Water Cooling Gallery

Soooo... My first ever attempt at a water cooling loop...

I'm dubbing it 'The Communist'... Its a lot of red.

Utterly pointless as my cpu isn't unlocked, but a great learning experience!

Generic Asus mobo

Generic RAM

Cheap pump/block/ reservoir/radiator/fans I got from Chinese EBay (taobao)

Built in my Core V21

Inb4 loop routing get questioned.

Love me a 540 build though. Few of the same parts myself.

That is......   I just have no words.  This is literally the first Desk Computer that I actually like.   Most have too much of an industrial design.  More suited for a Bachelor pad or Dorm room than a house.

But this one is perfect for any setting.

Had a pump fail in the Ryzen build I posted earlier. Here is the new loop design with the new pump. Currently dealing with graphics card issues though and I cant figure out why...

A build must be looming!  This time i set up a little temp pc from spare parts while i work on my main system so I'm not rushed to get a working pc again.  I think that will help my patience a lot!  My first loop without a case and i like it!  I will be starting a build log for the main system soon.

The temp loop:

Z97 classified w/4790k

Gtx 980 w/kryographics block

Xspx ex280 rad

EK dual loop d5 top/res with only 1 side installed

1/2" x 3/4" soft tubing and barb fittings.

20170527_084426.thumb.jpg.19743c7fd7235edd2e6292a1b71c9528.jpg

Quite surprised the lone 280mm rad is keeping the loop right around 10°c Delta while gaming.

So finally finished the RGB wiring etc and added the water blocks to the Ryzen system... Next its time to hook up the hard lines.  Quite the chore wiring up RGB led's to the reservoir they do seem to work ok.

Looks really good.  Two questions.

Hey. Thanks man.

1) When I original bought all the components I wasn't planning on a custom water cooling (November 2016). The GPU in the photo is a MSI Gaming 1070. MSI gaming series has incredible air coolers and I didn't feel it was worth spending the extra cash on water cooling it. With that said, the next time I upgrade my GPU I'll definitely water cool it. Most likely will go with a founders edition of the gtx xx80 or gtx xx80ti.  My current 360 PE radiator should be more than enough for a CPU + GPU.

2) At about 70 degrees room temperature. I get about 25c idle. At 100% load for 1 hour I get a max temperature of 61c. Fans and GPU never went pass 50%.
