What comes next? GTX 1080?

Anybody know what comes next after the 900 series? Will there be a 1000 series (1080ti, 1070) of will nvidia go to a different naming scheme like the did after the 9000 series (9800gx2, etc...) I think "Oh yeah have you heard of the new GTX 1080ti" will sound weird. Anybody else?

Vote for what you think Nvidia should do!

P.S. This is meant to be a fun poll, not one where everyone gets butthurt over other people's decisions.

If they do change it, lest it not be similar to AMD's naming scheme.

I think 1080ti could be very confusing.

I'd bet a lot of money that a new branding name will be used. Maybe even a new GTX brand.

I imagine they will reset the numbering scheme, but there is reason for them not to.

Compare the GTX 980 to the R9 290. The GTX has the R9 beat by almost 700!

If you get easily offended by people on the Internet there is something really wrong with you. You focus on the opinions of a few people instead of worrying about why you have a terrible taste in video games.

the thing is that AMD still has 7 GPU generations untill they get to the r9 990x or they might change it to something new along the way

INB4 Nvidia changes the GTX to GTY, and then GTZ. By the time they do I will probably be old or even dead.

I prefer the NVIDIA naming scheme, it's less cluttered.

GTX = gaming

Number based on performance

vs

Radeon

R5 = non-gaming

R7 = low-mid end gaming

R9 = mid-high end to extreme gaming

Number based on performance

X = slightly better

5x2 = dual GPU

Actually I like gtx better. It sounds like a sports car to me. The gtx is better than the gt. Just like how it would be with a spots car.
