EA Sports Ignite engine won't work on current PCs /Facepalm

qwertywarrior

Its a sports game, they suck on pc anyway. it was probably a way for them to save money seeing as how no one really ever buys sports games on pc.

The lack of PC support was explained away by EA Sports executive vice-president Andrew Wilson saying that most players don't have computers that could run it.

It's a shame because I really enjoy FIFA on my Xbox 360 and I was looking into buying FIFA 14 on my PC to play with a friend. Guess I'll hace to switch to PES.

he actually said it in this context 'And the majority of the gamer base that was playing the game on PC did not have a PC spec that would work with that.'

therefore it appears that people with poor computers were trying to play FIFA, but they should just adress the minimum spec list and say "too bad get a decent build" to poeple that didn't have a good pc....

People play sports games because they have more replay value than the average single player campaign game, Even in single player sports games offer a hell of a lot of value for money, if they are done right.

It's not that it "WON'T" work on PC... It's that it's not economically viable to develop on PC as they get more sales on console than PC

If I could buy a modern NHL game on the PC, I'd buy the SHIT out of it.

The reason sports games don't sell well on the PC is because they don't make any! Same situation with mortal kombat style fighters.

There's a market there, they just wont take the step to get it started. They also own the rights to nearly every sports franchise related game,  making it impossible for a third party game to be released outside of EA.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Users cannot, and will not securely manage key material. Most users can't and the ones that can, wont.

Maybe they asked customers at grocery stores what the specs of their PCs were and came to the conclusion that the average PC is an Intel Pentium 4 with 512mb of RAM and Intel 845 graphics.

Good time for the Linus/Slick EA meme...

I would love to buy a NFL or NHL sports game on PC(not every year of course, maybe once every 5 years or so). It's fun to just kick back with a controller and play a sports game(even though I don't like sports).

I still play NHL 2002 on my original Xbox.

Why do people care? If EA is so bad why would you be bothered?

Ea is bad, however they own the rights to those games making it impossible for any other company to publish them. If we want to play sports games on a PC, they need to come from EA and EA hates the PC.

It's not about boycotting EA, it's about multi platform releases and the lame excuses they use to avoid the PC master race.

They are either stupid and think PC's without descrete GPU are gaming PC's( All FIFA games are soooo playable on 6 a years old system), or they are just stupid.

Why do we care? sports games, like cod, is the same thing over and over and over again....

Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact... same fucking thing... over and over again, expecting... shit to change. That... is crazy; but the first time somebody told me that...I dunno, I thought they were bullshitting me, so boom — I shot him. The thing is, okay... He was right. And then I started seeing: everywhere I looked, everywhere I looked, all these fucking pricks, everywhere I looked, doing the exact same fucking thing... over and over and over and over again thinking: "This time, it's gonna be different; no, no, no, no, no, please... This time it's gonna be different." ...I am sorry, I don't like the way you are looking at me... Okay, do you have a fucking problem in your head? Do you think I am bullshitting you? Do you think I am lying? Fuck you! Okay? FUCK YOU! It's okay, man. I'm gonna chill, hermano. I'm gonna chill... The thing is... alright, the thing is: I killed you once already... and it's not like I am fucking crazy. It's okay... It's like water under the bridge.

If it's made for Xbox One and PS4 being x86 & DX based then there's zero reason why it can't work.

It doesn't really bother me considering I'm not one for sports games. But if it really bothers you I'm pretty sure since next gen consoles are x86 there'll be an emulator for them in the first week and you'll just be able to play those versions on PC anyway.
