Does your i5 give you any problems? Because mine is dead.

I'm talking about an Xeon X5450 (I really need to update my signature, and remove the i5 rig as well). In games that utilize no more than 4 threads it will perform better due to its higher IPC (also know an Millions Of Operations Per Second, in which my E8500 also surpasses any AMD CPU as well). Multi threaded games that are actually able to use all available cores will be the ones running of an FX 8350 better. And from my experience, the Phenom 2 1.66GHz was one of AMD's last great mobile CPUs, it was beating the first gen i5 in my convertible laptop, and the i5 was at 2GHz (both computers used AMD graphics, with the Phenom based machine haveing the mobility Raedon 5650 1GB).

Is the xeon modded to run on socket 775? Is it running well?

Im asking cause my q6600 just died haha :( and i want a quick replacement.

It is, and it was working until I had the VRM pumping 1.4V to get a 4GHz OC. Long story short, the VRM fried and my i5 4440 started working again. All I can say is never overclock quad cores on 3+1 phase motherboards, especially if they have no heatsink. You risk having to spend more on a replacement. (In my case I would have had 2 OC rigs, 1 with my core 2 (hits 4.5GHz no issues) and the other with my Xeon (needs a twin rad liquid cooler). If you do a socket mod be very careful not to damage the pins, I almost broke several, but was able to bend them back into place (slow and steady is the best way to do the mod).

Phenom II x4 830

Eric S. Raymond used an E6600 from 2005 until 12/30/14 or open source software creation. Raw data computations in excess of 18GB each. Core 2 Duos still have tons of life left, my friend.
