eGPU concerns

Theguywhobea

I was thinking about trying out an eGPU setup on a Dell Latitude E6220 I have. The CPU it has is an i5 2520m which is a little bit of an older CPU but it's not all that bad. I was wondering how badly this CPU and the expresscard interface is going to bottleneck a GPU? I have a GTX 650Ti I would probably be using with it for the most part but I was also thinking about trying out my 970 in it as well. Would it even be worth the effort of taking the 970 out of my system to test it?

Alright, if I do end up doing anything with an external GPU setup I'll just stick with the 650Ti, thanks for the help.
