So I was looking around on the internet and found this: 

 

It looks absolutely jaw dropping, If this was made in cryengine for real(probably not going to be) I would instantly buy it. What other games do you think would be great in a new engine?

this and the fact that you can double your fps by running the game in XP compatibility mode bothers me. In arma 3 I get 19 fps with 33 percent GPU usage look at that engine!

That is the main reason I don't buy that game. I will wait till it hits $4.99 price range.

I agree somewhat, despire there being exceptions.

 

APART FROM LITERALLY JUST UPDATING THE ART...

 

But I do completely disagree with this. I don't think I've ever seen a remake with an updated art style where the remade one was good, or at least not worse than the original.

every fps in the source engine

preferably not, it works for some, like titanfall, but i can't imagine something cool like Metro 2033 working at all in source.

 

I'd go for Simcity 2013 in a non trash engine

 

Elder scrolls in an engine that wasn't absolutely worthless

 

Minecraft in an engine that isn't based in java.

Personally I feel like a remake is only worth it if the game they're remaking is at least ten years old. So that's a starting point. It also has to be something that's worth remaking so for games that are ten years old? There's not much that I'd really want to go back and revisit. Most stuff I'd rather just see a reboot rather than a remake, like what they did with the new Tomb Raider. A lot of stuff is just fine as it is and has it's own retro charm like GTA Vice City. The only time I'll be hyped about a remake is if it's for something top tier... speaking of....

Personally I would quite like CD Projekt Red to remake/remaster of the first Witcher game, basically just updating the gameplay to get rid of the tiresome combat mechanic and updating the graphics because I personally really enjoy the game (the combat is okay, probably because I can get used to once I am through the prologue)

I have tried this, there is a reason it says beta, it' crap. I want a real remake of GTA San Andreas. That's way I am so excited for GTA V sicne it's basically that. I also want to see Need for Speed Most wanted and Underground 2 remade with the new engine. The Suffering: TIes that Bind is one otehr title that I want to see remade, at least so that it can support x64bit OS.
