At that pricepoint, I think it would be better to have a good base build, then buy a GPU later... Again, made for upgradability primarily

The builds are gaming optimized, making anything more then 8gb completely unnecessary

@ 3000 AUD build http://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/EnthusiastGaming/saved/vjZrxr

The build just seems unbalanced, and could easily be on the enthusiast platform with a 5820k and ddr4 at that price point.

If the builds are gaming optimized why would you go with an 8gb dominator platinum kit whenever you could get a 16 gb kit for around the same price and have better game performance? High speed ram hardly helps with games, unless you have an apu that's using it as vram.

Also to squeeze a few frames, get a aio cooler and overclock the 4790k to justify actually having that case and scrapping the overkill mobo with something more gaming oriented.

Games are starting to use more resources, I use 7gbs of ram without even playing anything.

Wd black would help game load times, considering that ssd will fill up fast.

Unity's ai pins my 3770k at 100%, and causes my graphics cards to get bottlenecked so for future unoptimized games go with a 6 core.

RAM doesn't effect gaming performance? And it's the buyer's preference, if it was my first time I wouldn't want to do a lot of ocing anyway so an AIO cooler is unnecessary

If the system doesn't have enough ram, performance will suffer. I use more than 8 gbs playing league.

I doubt it, if you are using more than 8gigs you have a problem

Well I have the luxery of keeping programs open and not have to worry about background processes.

You agreed that ram doesn't affect raw gaming performance, so why have the most expensive ddr3 on the market in the build, whenever a higher capacity would be more beneficial?

Because you can I guess, depends on the buyers preference

And because I really like the looks of Dominator Platinums :)
