Haswell R4 build "Abaddon"

Hi guys and girls,

I want to share my new Haswell build with you.

It's nothing really special and the R4 has been seen here a lot lately, too. But it is just such a nice case...

Specs:

Core i7 4770K

Asus Z87 Expert

Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 2x 8GB 1600MHz

GTX 780

2x Crucial M500 480GB (Raid 0 with Z87)

Samsung Blu Ray player/DVD burner

Fractal Design Define R4

Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 10 550W

Thermalright Venomous X Black Edition

2x Noctua NF-F12

3x Noctua NF-A14

Asus Xonar Essence STX

Edit: now with better pictures!

And here are some crappy cellphone pics I took earlier:

It also works ;)

In case you wonder where the SSDs are, they are in the second 5.25" bay. I can't get an angle to get a picture of them, sorry.

I really love the clean look of the R4 without any of the drive cages.

And since everyone seems to include their keyboards into the builds, here's my CM Storm Quickfire Rapid.

I did not only swap the keycaps, but also replaced the stock MX Reds with MX Blues and 55g springs as well as some stickers.

Hope you enjoyed my build;)

Please tell me what you think of it!

Looks good, only thing i would have to say isnt very good is the random blue ram. it doesnt fit the color scheme but it doesnt matter. the rest looks good :D

Yes, I know.

I bought the blue RAM because I wanted to get the Intel Z87 board which would have been black/blue. But that wasn't available anywhere, so I had to take the Asus.

At that point I already purchased the blue RAMs...

Tip for the future, dont put the mobo on the anti static bag, put it on the box next time, otherwise looks great

How did you swap the switches?

BTW nice build

Desolder them, open them, swap the internals, apply the stickers (optional step), put back together, solder back on.

It's really not that difficult ;)
