Acer announcing 1440p 144Hz Gsync monitor with IPS (Update: Reviewed)

Faa

Now this will almost made me trade my 290x for a 970....almost thought I'm sure something similar with freesync will be at CES

290X is still better than a 970 in a number of titles. If AMD would ever fix their damn DX 11 drivers like Nvidia did...

Forgot this monitor is G-Sync only...derp...

I hope there's a G-sync -and- Free-sync monitor that comes out with a 4k, AHVA, 60-120hz, 1-2ms and low input lag at 27" flicker free(no PWM).  They do that--I'll buy three.  *Throws money at screen*

This is an AHVA.  And a special panel by AU Optronics, so this is a first of it's kind, IPS performance, but not an LG IPS panel, but most AHVA panels -can- recreate 1.7B colors or atleast the high grade ones, so this should be.. -the- monitor.  1ms, AHVA, 144hz, 1440p, 27".  If they offer a Freesync variety or a 4k one.  I'd snag one *_*

is this info accurate ?

where did u get it from ?

Asus' stands are better IMHO.

Monitor arms beat all :P

Also about the input lag, I don't think they would dare launch such an expensive monitor that is gamer focused with high input lag.

Well...... I don't have those, just normal arms here. But they certainly are way beter then most stands.

I'm still just using stock stands xP  May eventually go to monitor arms, but if a stand is like the Dell Ultrasharp stands--I'd be pretty happy. :D

All very exciting (and expensive) but all I want is a regular 120/140hz 1080p IPS monitor (3D would be nice) :(

I've tried to find them but can't. Do they even exist?

They do not, yet. Given the announcement of these monitors however I wouldn't be at all surprised if some more high refresh rate IPS (or AHVA) monitors are shown at CES.

Most likely yes, but can't really say it's AHVA when Acer claims it's IPS. Because the viewing angles, color accuracy is nearly as good as IPS, monitor manufacturers usually refer AHVA panels to IPS or IPS-like. Also AHVA, IPS, (think VA as well), can't do 1ms.

Atm not because no 120Hz panel is IPS, you need 120Hz to get 3D so this is a 3D monitor.

The only G-sync monitor that matters unless you need that fraction of a second better response time.

Way back in September AU Optronics teased that they were working on a QHD 1ms AHVA panel, and yes; most manufacturers refer to PLS and AHVA as just IPS, but this is likely -that- panel, and if it is.. I can only imagine what more they can do with AHVA and just variations of the VA technology to begin with.  I've hopes that what Tomshardware assumes is correct, as if it is; this should be -amazing-.

Well hold on here. Tom's lists the AHVA panel as a rumour. Please don't go around saying this is fact until we know for sure.

To be clear, this being an AHVA panel is speculation only until confirmed by AU Optronics and/or Acer.

FYI AHVA has nothing to do with VA panel technology. Completely different and entirely unrelated. It's not based on VA tech.
