What Video Game Setting makes the most realistic experience?

I personally think shaders and the most important because they give a depth of field, next I would have to say object detail

What do you think is the most important video setting to make it realistic?

Current Build: Desk


My case is my most expensive part


Its Almost 2015 and I don't have an SSD

High res textures, good amount of triangles(not too excessive tho) , Lighting(ray tracing but that in real time is hella demanding. And as OP said DOF, but no motion blur, damn motion blur makes games look crappy, whilst we are on the subject of things that make games look crappy FXAA generally.

I personally prefer to turn any sort of depth of field off, because in any sort of twitch reaction game, out of focus elements are not a good idea.

Get Max Resolution and Textures first those two are the most important.  Next you will want frame rate and shoot for 60 or 144fps, afterwards (or depending on your acceptable frame rate) turn up the lighting and LOD especially.

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

and shadows. shit shadows suck.

What makes it the most "realistic" is running the game at the highest framerate your monitor can show you. Nothing yanks me out of immersion more than low framerates, inconsistent framerates, or tearing.

 

You can't really answer this question with regards to graphics alone because every game's art direction is completely different. Not every game is even aiming for photorealism.
