Glad i went with EVGA

Picked up these beauties this morning.

Two 980 SC cards.

When i unboxed and held them, it was like having a child on my hands.

 

All i need now is an EVGA bridge, some backplates and get an all black color scheme.

 

Excuse the shitty phone camera quality but it did the job.

Only my 2nd EVGA purchase ever, first one was the PSU.

This GPU model was actually amongst the cheapest ones here.

I had two DCII OC 780s from Asus before.

Grats OP on supporting a company that tried to pull a fast one over on consumers when it comes to the 900 series.  Is your next purchase going to be an Ubisoft product at full price?

Yes. Well i don't have to look at the insides since it's on the ground next to my desk.

It kind of matched the GPUs before since there were red/black Asus ones.

Maybe i'll get some new cables later on.

I know nothing about that, all i heard is that the 970 had problems with the cooler.

1500mhz clock speed, and my temps are about 10C lower when under stress compared to my DCIIOC 780s running at 1230mhz. I'm quite pleased, they are also much more quiet.

Will try some custom vBios soon.

Congrats on your purchase! I wish I just bought 2 980s instead of water cooling one xD Oh well I mostly play games that don't utilize two cards anyway. EVGA is an awesome company. I recently opted to use their step up program, I upgraded my GTX 970 FTW to a GTX 980 and only paid the difference, that's it. Pretty awesome deal, + their customer service is great. Probably won't be buy much besides EVGA anytime soon. I also have an EVGA PSU, 10 year warranty gotta love it...
