Need more fan headers

tp95112

I ahev 4 fans on my tower and my motehr board only has 2. I saw Linus's review of the Phantom 630 and there was a fan adapter at the back of the case. Is there anything like that i can buy on ncix or another retailer?

... you can get a molex to 3 pin fan adapter anywhere for like 3$

http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=31670&vpn=CB-3M4M&manufacture=Works

you can get a fancy bitfenix alchemy molex to 3 fan adapter (with or without resistance (for lower fan speed/noise))

http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=62204&vpn=BFA-MSC-M33F12VKK-RP&manufacture=BitFenix

if you want a fan controller, look for fan controller on ncix.com

Is there one like the Phantom 630? It looks pretty good cause you can hide all you cables at the back

You could also get a splitter cable to plug more fans into the two connectors on your motherboard.

Such as:

NCIX (CA)'s Splitter: http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=56217&vpn=TX3SPLITTER&manufacture=Startech.com

check your fan starting amp tho, too many fan on 1 motherboard header could burn it up.

BTW that cable is a molex splitter, it only transmit pwm signal from the mobo header,

so that is risk free for your motherboard but useless on 3 pin fans

are you looking for a fan splitter or a case?

You can probably hide the wires in your case too if that is what you ask.

The idea was to show that these adapters exist. Plus what is the problem with the one I supplied it is getting power from molex and getting PWM information from the motherboard. You only loose out on controlling the fans individually.

I just meant to point out that this splitter might not be what he wants if he has no 4 pin fans, or not to daisy chain multiple 3 pin fan splitter off 1 header.

If you are looking for some special type of splitter, then you might have to search diffirent stores for it. Basic 1-2/3 splitters come with some cabling since they are cheap to make.

I think I understand what you're looking for, but I have the feeling that chip in the back of the Phantom is actually the whole fan controller array.

The closest thing I can find is the Cooler Master Wind Rider, which is kind of the whole setup integrated in to one box; it looks like it's pretty tiny, so you may well be able to keep it out of sight (or maybe mod it if you're adventurous.)
