My GPU but it doesn't retain as much value as I would have liked.  I purchased my R9 280X for $300 around May.  They sell for just over $200 now.  Just goes to show how fast this stuff advances.  Future proofing is useless.

G1 970... cost $450 before tax and $520 after

Trust me, your better off with Ivy Bridge instead of Haswell, they overclock better and the difference is small.

My Asus GTX 980 Strix which cost me £501 when I bought it at the beginning of October. Not much cheaper now at £479 and I don't regret it at all. :-)

At this point I believe it's my i7-4790k. I have the GTX 780, but considering it's not too terribly expensive anymore, in comparison, I couldn't say it.

Originally I paid $400 for it but I'm referring to pricing as of right now.

My HD 6770. 

Eric S. Raymond used an E6600 from 2005 until 12/30/14 or open source software creation. Raw data computations in excess of 18GB each. Core 2 Duos still have tons of life left, my friend.

EVGA GTX 970. Shit was listed on NCIX CA for 419.99. Came up to 476ish after taxes.

*** my 970 sc was 340 with 3 day shipping but my most expensive part would be my 4790k bought it late August think is came in around 400

Rose's are red violets are blue, without computers I'd know not what to do.
