Origin Users reporting unauthorized purchases on their account. So am I.

In this Reddit thread , users are reporting things being bought on their account. 
Other stories and threads can be found here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.
"Here" is starting to not look like a real word anymore.



In a possibly unrelated case, Origin charged me again for titanfall (the exact amount and the same publisher on my bank statement) about a month after i had purchased it. 
I immediately contacted origin support, and they denied everything. 
Luckily, i went to my bank the nice lady just dumped the money back in, rather than launching an investigation, gave me a new card, and sent me on my way. 

I'm going to throw a PSA in here as well IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO, SET UP TWO-STEP VERIFICATION ON YOUR ACCOUNT.  MANY USERS HAVE ALREADY BEEN SAVED BY THIS, BECAUSE THEY GOT THE PASSWORD BUT COULD NOT GET PAST THE TWO-STEP.


Again i say, enable two step verification.

set up two step or remove payment info from the account. BTW to OP people who have stopped the payments with there banks before are also reporting they get banned from origin.

He also forgot to mention if you dont know about the topic then dont make stuff up. Dont claim fake or assume things just by reading the title, Read the post. It doesnt matter if you made 3,000 as it could be mostly crap...

Nothing here. I don't save my payment details, I always delete it after making a purchase if it does save.

 

Hopefully everyone that is effected by this gets it sorted out with ease. EA is great with customer support and they'd sort this out promptly.

Here is a great idea. Don't store your credit card number, anywhere, in fact.

No fraudulent charges.

 

In any case, just call your credit card company and report any false charges. They'll probably cancel the charges, cancel your credit card, and send you a new one.

Honestly thank anyone who makes you buy FIFA. It's a fantastic game and you have to support PC sports games so we get more of them ;).

Jokes aside I haven't noticed any unintentional purchases on my account. I have an origin account just for a few PC games like Fifa and nothing else shows up in my account. Hopefully it stays that way.

That sucks for anyone affected by this, especially if EA are banning people over it. Thanks for the heads up OP. I wasn't even aware two step verification was available for Origin.

Had no bogus purchases, but turned on two step just in case. Had it for steam for ages

I rushed on Origin just to realize I've never bought anything there lol, I got BF4 with a Origin Key off ebay and I have a couple of the free games.
Go ahead hacker, play my battlefield 4. You'll probably just bring my kill death ratio up =P

I'd thank them by throwing a brick at them haha I hate sports games and I don't want more of them.

I've not noticed any odd purchases on my account but I was just about to buy BF4 premium which I'll now not do just to be safe.

I hope. I don't have a credit card associated with my Origin account.I would be happy if someone hacked into it to buy me some games.

To my understandin, origin accounts are fairly easy to crack. However, cracked account buyers usually purchase the specific account to play an already purchased game. I guess some are taking payment info already present to buy games now.

I didn't have any weird payments on my account, I said up 2 step verification anyway though. I am surprised it isn't on by default like it is for steam??

Actually I'd advise against this, at least if Origin is uncooperative. If you do a chargeback, they can ban your account. Also people who's accounts have bought FIFA15 could also have their account banned because somehow the hackers are using their account to cheat in FIFA15, so their account can get banned that way too.

Happened to a friend earlier this year, some $11K of credit card debt on FIFA 2014 + fifa points.

 

Nearly got tricked by the same link (phishing link sent by his account), realized straight after and changed password + enabled 2-step verification.
