Buying new 2011-3 socket I7 5960x

declined

So I'm buying new stuff:

MB : http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5125#ov

Processor : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117404

RAM : http://pricespy.co.uk/product.php?p=2782245

PSU: http://www.corsair.com/en/rm-series-rm1000-80-plus-gold-certified-power-supply

GPU: I got 2x Titans so I'll keep them.

I got 3x ASUS VG248qe screens on 24" mounted on my desktop, could provide you with pictures if want to!

Chassi: http://www.corsair.com/en/obsidian-series-750d-full-tower-atx-case

So I just want to know what you think: Is it bad, is it good, What would you have bought instead.

I can say that I will need help with overclocking that beast processor and I will look for that help here on this forum ;).

And I am uncertain if that is the chassi for me, I would prefer one that is Sound dampened.

I think it's all good. Nice setup! What case are you looking for? The 750D is a good option, but there are numerous others, which are not bad either.

Thanks! I like the 750d because of the size and I think my R4 define is too small for SLI and radiators etc. I was going for the 900d but it's oversized :P

you dont need 1000 watts and i'd buy a smaller case.

Thing is I already own the psu :P

Have you considered the Enthoo Primo as a case option?

It was very easy and it's stable, I could probably get 4.4 Ghz, but I think it's fine at 4.3

Doesn't seem like a bad choice either, nice to see that there are users who buys the 5960X, I personally will not be doing so in a long time.

Even a 9590 would be a smarter choice than a 5960x just for gaming. Notch it down to a 4690K & Z97, will yield much better gaming performance since it reaches much higher clock speeds and buy yourself two more titans with the money you saved.
