Update 6, Some News and Pictures

Ok, I took my computer to a friends house to test my parts, everything works except I don't know about my HD 7770... Also, it never crashed at his house. I honestly think I just have a faulty surge protector. Anyway, I installed my 970, and it is a beast. Idling at 32-34C is sweet. Full load is 68C in FarCry 4 at I think Very High. Not sure about Ultra, Ultra makes it run in the 40FPS range with very little detail improvement while Very High is 60+ with dips in the low 50s and rarely in the high 40s.

sweet so if it was just the surge prtector ,at least it did it job and did not ruin your PC.

 

did you notice any coil whine with the 970?

Thank god it's just a surge protector, and no, it doesn't have any coil whine. I might've put the fan speed at 100% once to test. :P It only hits 68C when it is at 1100RPM. (40% fan speed)

good to know ,I'll be in the market for one soon.only thing that kinda bites is that I have $100 in best buy giftcards and there selection kinda sucks.they do have the one with the 780/980 style reference cooler tho

They also have a reference GTX 970 which happens to be sold at Bestbuy, no idea why they are the only ones that sell them.

Nope, just my shitty HTC One M7 camera doing that. Might have a piece of fuzz here and there, but it isn't dusty. Doesn't help that I dropped my phone messing up the camera making it take even worse photos.

Final Update (I Believe)

That 970 is holding up really well. Overclocked too. Should probably downgrade the drivers since I've learned the latest enjoy making games flip the fuck out. Anyway, it's overclocked to a boost of 1483MHz according to GPU-Z but the sensors say 1558MHz, guess the sensors are right...? Anyway, screenshots.

Yes, I'm running F@H right now. :D

Now onto my computer. It has collected a little dust on top of the case, but I brushed some of it off. Oh yeah, I forgot about a 1TB HDD that was in my desk, so I threw that in my computer, almost literally. The only things holding it in place is the cables pushing it into the PSU cover at the bottom of my case.

May or may not have taken these while F@H runs.

I love how you can see @XTankSlayerX's LTT wallpapers in some of the photos. :P

That is it, I think! Unless I decide to buy some different PSU cables. I like how icemodz Carbon colored cables look. :)

The advertised boost clock is not the final boost clock becasue the card actually boosts further.

That's what I thought, so it's base-ically (hehe, badpun... I'm sorry) a confirmed clockspeed that it will hit but will push itself further if it has the headroom?

What was that other expansion card that is below the 970?

Cool system.

Just my wireless card... It has a onboard usb port. :D And bluetooth.

 

Actually, it's above my 970 now since I got a new motherboard. On like my 5th or 6th Windows 7 install since then cause Nvidia driver issues. :(

Pictures show my 970 sagging wayyy more then it really does... And it does sag, but not that bad.

Sorry for the fuse blowing, good luck with the project 

It's been finished for a long time, I just decided to replace the motherboard with something better so my dell can get a Pentium G3258 in the future. :)
