Case Fans

Hey guys! I have a Cooler Master HAF-X and I am looking to upgrade some of the stock fans that come with it. I will need the following:

- A 230 mm fan for the front

- A 200 mm fan for the top

- A 140 mm fan for the back

Now, I don't know much about case fans but I do not have any radiators or anything, so I will not be needing pressure optimized fans or anything like that, unless of course those would be ideal for me. I am mostly looking for high quality fans that will be quiet, but will also have good airflow. Price is really not of a concern to me, and neither are LED's. I would like to know your recommendations on which fans would be the best for my needs.

140mm get noctuas

200mm

230mm Bitfenix fans i think are the only decent ones for that size.

Antec also make a decent 230mm. I remember the one on my 902 was pretty good.

As for 140mm I have to agree with joe. Although the Silverstone AP141 is also very good. I used one to replace the PSU fan on my TX650. Very quiet at 5V.

Just use 120s/140s everywhere, even if you have to mod them in.

Unfortunately, I don't have enough fan headers on my motherboard to do so, and trust me I would love to use 140's or 120's all around.

If money is no concern and you just want quiet air flow optimized fans, I would highly recommend the Be Quiet Silent Wings 2 120/140mm fans. I have both and they are extremely quiet and push a lot of air. Out of all the fans I've purchased in the past, they are the quietest and best performing for air flow.

I would also say use 120/140mm noctuas over the whole case, if you don't have enough motherboard headers you can pick up fan splitters from amazon for a couple of dollars/pounds so you can connect multiple fans to one motherboard header, or you could use a fan controller to plug them all in to.

 

Personally I would recommend the first option because it is a lot cheaper and less hassle :)

i'm just curious,how many fans can you actually connect to one motherboard header?is there an ampere limit or something?

Unfortunately, I don't have enough fan headers on my motherboard to do so, and trust me I would love to use 140's or 120's all around.

 

Fan splitters are very cheap, I would just get a fan controller however anyway.

Cougar Turbine fans are pretty nice fans for airflow. Using these fans but would need to under volt them in order to not make them that loud.

coolermaster sickleflow's are 120mm, if you can get 140mm versions [which i think u can] go for it!

What do you mean by best? Noise to performance ratio? Or pure performance. The Corsair fans are good and aren't to expensive.
