I have been buying pieces of my enthusiast build 1150 board. I had to take the back seat for the 2011-3 board just on price of the chip. If i got this i could build my dream pc. Its really been the only thing holding me back. Already got the case and two gigabyte gtx 970.... Work at frys electronics so been picking my pieces each pay check. Come on random selector make my christmas i dare you..... Ohh and Linus you rock too. I use your advice when i help my customers. :D

Might build my little brother his first PC, and tell him he is never upgrading it until he graduates. Should be enough to play minecraft for him if i remember the stats on that chip correctly....

I do a lot of video editing, 3d rendering, and I am also teaching my self java. This CPU would really help me with all of this because right now my working off my laptop and I am working towards buying parts to build my own system. Can't really afford too much right now, also I have had to stop working because I got a knee injury(torn ACL, still pending surgery--welcome to Canada!--)

Hi there. The 5820k is not only the cheapest 2011v3 CPU, it's also the one with best price-performance ratio by far. I would not use this CPU for video editing purposes but for heavy multitasking while gaming multi-core optimized on extreme settings. In addition I think, 6 cores + SMT are future-proof for the next few years, at least for gaming.
