Insight on PSU

So, I have a XFX XXX edition 850w silver certified PSU. Its about 3-4 years old. My specs are in my signature but I'm trying to get my CPU up to about 4.8Ghz, but I'm wondering because my PC have freezing a lot recently and i think it might be because my PSU wattage is too small. Thoughts? also, would have a lacking PSU wattage be damaging to the rest of my components (eg.GPU)?

850 is more than enough for that system. It must be something else.

Not at all.. that setup uses less than 600W easy.

I would say it is not due to that. That should be more than enough power.

Okay, thanks for the insight, I guess Ima go poke around my PC when i get home too see whats wrong with it. Because now I'm getting a error 43 for my 7970 *sigh*

Thats plenty of power, maybe you just didnt do that well in the silicone lottery

Did you install the new "omega" drivers?

Someone reported here that it broke his xfire of "different generation" GPUs

Ye I did, but even after reseting the bios and using clean install tools, It still gives me error 43. Ill try to move the card to a different slot to see if it still a no-go.
