White Heaven ~ Enderman's S340 mod/build log ~

Enderman

@Enderman, I'm amazed! That's a work of art right there my friend! Thank you for posting these here. :) Which extension cables are those if you don't mind me asking? Would you recommend them?

Thanks! The main 8 pin CPU, 24 pin motherboard, and 6 and 8 pin PCIe cables are all silverstone. The white sata cables and front audio cable are from bitfenix. The white sleeving looks identical, and bitfenix also makes the sleeved 24, 6, and 8 pin cables, as well as many others.

NEW PC build: Blank Heaven   minimalist white and black PC     Old S340 build log "White Heaven"        The "LIGHTCANON" flashlight build log        Project AntiRoll (prototype)        Custom speaker project

Extensions can be used with any power supply. Just make sure that if you go with the Silverstone ones, you get actual extensions, they also make replacement cables for their power supplies. I believe PP06 cables are replacements, and PP07 are extensions, but you'll want to confirm yourself.

Normal. I plan to use EK ZMT (norprene) tubing and paint it white.

Fractal Design Kelvin S24, this http://www.amazon.com/Alphacool-NexXxoS-Monsta-Radiator-140mm/dp/B00BEZOQPA/ref=sr_1_47?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1418794968&sr=1-47&keywords=radiator, and the tubing and fittings

@Enderman You might want to paint the 800D white, as the S340 can't watercool all that well

No, because I want a compact system, and I am not looking to do a giant watercooling loop.

I am going to try to make a custom "AiO" closed loop cooler by modifying a Fractal Design Kelvin S24. This is going to be a single radiator watercooler, but not just any single radiator...http://www.amazon.com/Alphacool-NexXxoS-Monsta-Radiator-140mm/dp/B00BEZOQPA/ref=sr_1_47?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1418794968&sr=1-47&keywords=radiator:P

And if you are modding i would suggest this rad as it's cheaper and going to preform better.

I never knew the Fractal AIOs are expandable. Can you switch out the tubing on them? Would you take out the radiator it already has and use the Alphacool one? So basically "throwing away" the including Fractal one?

Yes they are expandable, and they have 1/4" threads so I can use regular watercooling fittings.

I would be using the stock radiator for a couple months until I saved up $150 to buy the giant alphacool rad. Then I would either keep it for experimenting or sell it on craigslist :P

Yup, they use a very high quality ceramic pump, which is apparently very powerful while being quieter than almost every other AiO (according to reviewer tests) and I would be interested in confirming that myself :)

I was going to buy these barb fittings https://www.dazmode.com/store/product/3_8_id_tubing_-_barb_-_matt_black/ for the ZMT tubing.

I originally was thinking about compression fittings, but if I paint the tubing, tightening the compression fittings will rip the paint from the tube, so I will get barbs instead.

Why not clear tubing with white fluid?

Why not clear tubing with white fluid?

I don't really like the shine of the clear plastic. I prefer the matte white look of plastidip.

Also the ZMT tubing is probably the best tubing for long-term watercooling because it doesnt have any plasticizer or softeners, it is made to be extremely durable.
