Open-Ear that are not Sennheiser

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

I asked this question in a thread a week ago but didn't get many replies. What are good open-ear headphones that are around ~$110? I can always go above budget if needed.

Spoiler

i5 4670k, GTX 970, 12GB 1600, 120GB SSD, 240GB SDD, 1TB HDD, CM Storm Quickfire TK, G502, VG248QE, ATH M40x, Fractal R4

Spoiler

i5 4278U, Intel Iris Graphics, 8GB 1600, 128GB SSD, 2560x1600 IPS display, Mid-2014 Model

Spoiler

All the parts are here, just need to get customized cords to connect the motherboard to the front panel.

AKG k612 pro are sometimes around 140$, not right now, they are 160$ now

You should get rid of word OEM in your title, it confuses people cause its not really a thing, there is IEM, but OEM is a completly differnt thing

There's the Pioneer SE-A1000 at around $60. I don't really think there are any other good ones.

that's disappointing :(

guess I'll just go closed-ear, the sennheiser aesthetic looks awful imo

I like my Se-A1000's, but that is under budget, another good option is the Takstar HI2050. If you are not in a hurry you can wait for Massdrop to offer the last 2000 massdrop edition AKG K7XX's, which they seem like they are going to be an awesome deal for $20, but no one really knows for sure since the only person that has reviewed them so far us Linus...

Didn't say it was a bad thing.

The flakey 'auto adjusting' headband on the AD500X / 700X are known to be loose fitting after a while.  I would definitely spend a bit extra and get the AKG K612 Pro as mentioned.  Super comfy for long gaming sessions.  Barnacules did a review on them a while back.
