5.98 Light years from button press.

i7 950 corsair ssd 8gb ram etc blah etc

Used to be around 20-30 seconds but has now gone up to a minute. I don't know why.

(Apologies for my attempt at a geeky joke - couldn't help it lol)

Lol, lightyear is a unit of distance, not time.

A bit less than 30 secs for a full restart.

About 8 seconds for a boot + about 16 seconds for the slow POST loading screen is about 23 seconds for a full boot.

ADATA SX900 64gb SSD + Pentium e6300 @ 3.5 Ghz

Windows 8 fast boot is disabled and SSD is bottlenecked with SATA 3 gb/s interface

Like 50 seconds - doesn't really need to be shorter since I usually grab a drink after turning it on anyway :)

Yes I have an SSD.

So many things I could write here... things like this.

Samsung SSD 840 and i5 3570k boots in 10-20 seconds (including post with my flash drive in and not including post without). I haven't timed it properly though, because if i did that i would probably have to do stuff like autologon and I CBA.

At the moment I'm using an old Macbook (don't shoot me), as I'm waiting on parts to come in stock before building my new rig.

CPU: Core 2 Duo 2.26GHz

Standard mechanical hard drive (Lol)

It takes about 20 seconds to boot up in OSX, and about 45 seconds in Windows.

Not sure exactly but for some reason my spare PC with a single SATA II SSD boots a whole lot quicker than my main PC with RAID 0 Samsung 840 Pro and more powerful specs.

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

I don't care as I leave my pcs on all the time and if there is the rare time I have to boot it up as it ended up off for some reason I can go to bathroom to take a leak or go to the kitchen to make a snack while it takes 30 seconds or whatever to boot up.  I will not buy an SSD just for faster boot times.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S
