Asus S56CA ultrabook with Windows 8, takes about 1-1.5 minutes for a cold boot, and around average of 10 seconds for hybrid boot.

Takes around 45 seconds right now with Win7 and a 1TB Spinpoint. I should be switching to Windows 8 on a Samsung 840 in a few weeks so that will change soon :). I don't really care that much about boot times though, I mean it's not like I have to stare at the PC while it boots...

3570k @ 4.5Ghz and OCZ 120GB Agiliy 4. Strangely sometimes it will get to desktop <10 seconds and then once I timed it and it was >30 seconds.  I'm thinking peripherals may sometimes have an effect on POST speed, sometimes I have 4 externals connected etc.

Do you defrag your SSD?

Defraging an SSD is not required and can impact the life of the drive.

Sorry just saw your reply in a later post.
