Specs are below in my signature thingy.

It takes 10 seconds to loads windows, but total boot time of 56 seconds including motherboard post.

Does anyone know how to speed up motherboard post time? Drives me crazy.

Don't wish for too much... I needed around 4-5 tries before i could get into my BIOs when i first assembled my pc because my Ducky wasn't even loaded up during the POST...

Although 40 seconds of POST does seem a little unusual for it usually takes 15-20s at max

this is the PC i have to use atm and it takes almost 3 minutes to boot. and it overheats and turns off randomly.

i've got that same pc except i've got the x2 5200+ i cut two holes and installed 2 80mm fans on the bottom... no more overheating issues infact cpu stays cool given that i live in a tropical country. wrt to boot times it takes like 15s on a 5400rpm  excluding the motherboard post

(1) high frame rate (2) ultra graphics settings (3) cheap...>> choose only two<<...

if it's never been done then i'm probably tryna do it. (((((((Bass so low it HERTZ)))))))

No idea because I never turn it off in the first place!

Ok, but seriously when I do it's heck slow. Probably abour 35seconds, mind you my startup programs are quite few.

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

My current system, which will be 6 years old this November, is quite slow in comparison to newer PC systems today.

Here are the specs:

Model: HP Pavilion a6260a

PSU: 300W (forgotten brand)

Motherboard: Asus motherboard (can't remember specifics)

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz

Memory: 4GB (4x1GB) @ 667MHz

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce FX GT 430

HDD: 500GB 7200rpm

Optical Drive: DVD-RW

Display: HP 2311f 23" TN monitor & HP w1907 19" TN monitor

OS: Windows 7 Professional

This computer generally takes about 1 minute to start up. Quite slown I know. My new PC will kick this current PCs rear end for sure. I can't wait till I can replace it.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

My rig is in my signature and it is an FX 8350 and a OCZ Vertex 3 factory refurbished ssd because it is just as good and it was cheap. I get about 450 mb/s read and writes. It boots from pushing the button on my r4 to log on screen in about 10 to 12 seconds.

i have a weird setup, i'm too lazy to do a fresh install, so I'm just using my SSD as a games & documents drive, and My HDD as the boot drive.

I seem to be having the same problem as a few other people here. Takes around 50 secs from power on to fully booted. The problem is the majority of that time (maybe 35s) is spent waiting for the PC to post, detecting hdd etc. After that I get the splash screen and it flies from there. Do some motherboards take longer to post? Is there anything that can be done to speed up this process?
