How fast is your boot time?

SeeingSharp

My desktop pulls a decent 14 seconds at the longest and 11 seconds at the fastest times for windows 7.

Something, something, something, famous quote, computer specs, and stuff...

If I get rid of my password, my laptop boots in 22 seconds. Not bad, I don't think... There's the added bonus of being able to launch applications the second you boot into your desktop.

Once you go to SSDs, you really do never go back.

72 sec Win7 SSD on my PC - instantly usable

84 sec Win7 HDD on my laptop - not usable for another minute or so.

What a shame for my PC, but who cares. :D

About 11 seconds, but remove 3 seconds from that because I always have to type in a password.

SSDs are simply the greatest thing ever, now that the price per GB is down to a reasonable level.

About 45 seconds.
I got a bunch of HDD(internal and external) that slows down the boot process considerably and my board doesn't support proper SATA 3 either so my SSD is in SATA 2. (If I use the SATA 3 port on my board, the speed I get is all over the place, especially the Writes which are even lower than when I use SATA 2.. Crappy Realtek controller.)

With all my HDDs disconnected, takes less than 20 seconds from the bios to windows.

Don't know exactly, but my PC boots to the login screen quicker than my monitors turn on fully.

My desktop uses a 500GB EVO SSD. Boots in 15 secs to password.

The laptop I am using ATM, is using a 5400rom HDD. Boots in two minutes to profile selection + two minutes before it is actually useable.

But yeah, my next laptop will have an SSD. :-)

My desktop boots windows 7 in about 17 seconds (SSD), my laptop boots windows 7 in about 2 minutes (HDD) and my parents computer takes about 6 minutes to fully boot vista (HDD).

No use in getting boot times under 10 seconds, because my monitor doesn't boot that fast.

My personal build boots in 5-10 seconds on a Samsung 840 and is usable with no lag almost as soon as I log in.

My MBP 13 takes 45-60 seconds to boot and then another minute or two before it is usable.

When I still had my 840 EVO 120GB in my netbook with Windows 8.1 Pro 32-bit, my boot was 5 seconds and login was about 10-15. Not bad for a max of 140MB/s reads and writes. Now with my Momentus 5400.6 and Windows XP Home Edition, it takes about 30 seconds to boot, and about another 20-30 to login.

My Dell with a Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 80GB (IDE) takes maybe 30 seconds at the most. Yay Puppy Linux.
