760 X2 or 980?

Simply nacho

Hello, I have a dilemma I've recently been having and that is if I should upgrade my graphics card. I currently have 2 windforce Gtx 760 4gb and they work amazing but the problem is that I love playing at high resolutions and I'm not sure these babies can keep up.

That being said I was wondering if getting a 980 will be any better since I game on 3 2560x1440. I am even willing to get 2 980s if I need to.

As games are getting more and more demanding, I'm just not sure if my cards can keep up. Any advice would be appreciated... Thanks for your time :D.

Edit: I almost forgot to ask if I should upgrade my cpu. I currently have an amd fx 8350 and I was thinking on getting a intel i7 4790k.but with upgrading cpu also comes upgrading my motherboard which is even more money. Help on this would be great.. Thanks again :)

Well, when you game, can they keep up? SLI 760s would be similar to a single 970.

I would replace your cards WHEN they're not longer enough, not now (if they're still enough right now).

why don't you just try it out? Play the games you want, play with the settings and see for yourself if the frame rate you are getting is what feels most comfortable.

2 980 will be much better then your current 760 but since your resolution is really high i think you should be able to go ultra on most game without aa around 60 fps. Also what is your motherboard ? The 8350 and 4790k performance in game are not that far apart.

It really depends on the game, but a 4790k will outperform an FX8350 by quite a bit, and if he goes with SLI 980s an FX8350 would bottlneck like crazy.

How can that be a bottle neck. And the fx 8350 in game only lose about 3-5 compare to the i7 with 980 sli
