Dell Just Won The Internet, Announces 4K 60Hz IPS Monitor for $599

Dell has just announced the immediate availability of two new monitors. Both of which support a display resolution of 3840x2160, both sport IPS panels, 10-bit per channel color and a 60Hz refresh rate. The P2415Q and P2715Q.

Dell-Unveils-24-and-27-Inch-4K-Monitors-

The 24" model carries an MSRP of $599 while the 27" model carries an MSRP of $699. I truly wish to see Dell release more IPS 60Hz 4K monitors with FreeSync support. Can't stand TN, will never settle for TN, want that smooth dynamic refresh rate !

This is a great price. Hopefully it'll run the prices of competitors down.

ips panels are overrated.

I'd pay the extra $100 for the 27" version.

I really wouldn't, the smaller the pixels the better.

after a certain point (unless you sit 10mm from the screen) you cant see them anyway, so youre just wasting data. the 27" is perfect :3

I understand the advantages for gaming, but for every day use in Excel, Outlook, and Word, I want to be able to actually read what I am typing.

That's why you pay the extra money and get U.S. tech support, which is really good.

No 120Hz support yet?

I don't believe there is a display standard implemented anywhere that supports 4K 10-bit at 120Hz

I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason and intellect has intended us to forgo their use, and by some other means to give us knowledge which we can attain by them. - Galileo Galilei

Why not a 50" version for the same price, so I could use it as a TV...come on Dell...

I once had one of these, now I've got this.

Wow, that's cheap. At least to some people it is anyway. The fact it's a 10 bit IPS 24" is most appealing to me, as I prefer a smaller monitor to larger ones, as I can fit more of them on my desk.

I would, I did. You can and will in fact notice. 27" for gaming on a desk isn't a great experience, you'll either have to set the monitor further back in which case you should've just gotten a 24" monitor or you'd simply not make use of the additional real estate because it would be out of your range of focus.

You've looked at 24" and 27" 4k, 10-bit, 60hertz monitors next to each-other from a decent distance, and noticed a difference? Doubt it.

Shame you need to use a Quadro or AMD Firepro to use the monitors 10-bit colours (would they even work without them)?

Still nice though :)

I sit about ....hmm judging by the eyes about 50-70cm away from my screen in my chair, relaxing back in my chair, about 1m.

To my 27" 1080p panel, and I can say HOLY crap it looks shit.,..well not shit...but not fantastic (this close) & (by comparison to my downsampling 1440p with CRU in games)

I'd imagine the 4K experience at this distance, on a 27" panel, would be EPIC! (Minus the small scaling of text and such, which can be fixed right?)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Radeon supports 10-bit per channel. It's only GeForce that doesn't.
