So cryorig have announced some special edition R1 heatsinks and they are giving some away.

Its an act of benevolence to show that they are happy that people care about them(brings a tear to my eye). Below you can see asus's feeble attempt at trying to woo people into trying to like black and gold boards. 

 

The new colours consist of True red, deep blue, vibrant orange, fresh green and blow on me senpai gold.

 

Btw two gold ones are being given away, one for VIP members(supporters buyers etc) and the second one for the public.

I'm not gonna lie, that doesn't look nearly as bad as I expected it to. I'm still not a fan of the gold color, but it seems to be done fairly tastefully.

Does anyone have this product? Is the R1's two plastic fin shrouds removable? (For painting) Because if they are I'll order one right now.

 

I'm asking because I went through all of the documentation and it says nothing about it.
