CPU Cooler

DTV998

Hey guys! I need some help: Is there a big difference between the Corsair H80i and H100i cooler (performance) ?

I would be ok with overclocking my i7 4770K to like 4.5, but I would try more... :D

Thanks for all your help!  :D

Well more rad=better cooling so h100 would be better because it has 2 fans instead of 1.

(that is the slightly simple version :D)

i5 3570 | MSI GD-65 Gaming | OCZ Vertex 60gb ssd | WD Green 1TB HDD | NZXT Phantom | TP-Link Wifi card | H100 | 5850

Is it a really big difference? Would I be ok. with H80i at 4.5 ?

Im not sure i would be happy but it wont be at dangerous temps, I think there are a few graphs around the interwebs, try and see if something turns up :D

From what I have read, there isn't a big difference between them as the H80i is a thicker radiator.

CPU: AMD FX-8350 | CPU Cooler: H80i | Motherboard: Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 | RAM: 8GB Kingston Beast 1866MHz

Case: Define R4 | GPU: Gigabyte GTX 780ti | PSU: Corsair CX600M | SSD: 250GB Samsung 840 EVO

The only real difference the size, it matters what you prefer (single or double fan radiator).

There isn't a big difference. I think Linus has a video comparison on this.

With Haswell not every CPU is the same. Some can handle the heat better than others. Thus I would recommend the H100. I have a friend who can't keep it below 90 degree Celsius with his H80 @ 4.3 GHz.

well i don't think an H220 will do for him, seeing how he seems to be looking for a budget solution :D

Don't get a H80i it's a POS when you do Prime95 and especially overclocking.

I had a H80i but I decided to return it since I wasn't liking the temps...

Now I have a H100i and I am fairly pleased.

If you can fit a H110 in your case, that would be a better solution.

as shown in sams link there is a pretty big difference.

I would personally go for something like an NH-D14,or phanteks PH-TC14

if he can fit the H100i the swiftech H220 is better then the H110 even with noctua fans

i would say the H220 is the best option no matter 240/280mm rad

A H220 isnt much more than a h100i. Of he can fork out the money for a z87 sabertooth ,650d and 4770k, i think he can spend a little more for a h220

What? The radiator of the H220 is full copper, it has a more powerful pump. The H220 will outperform the H100i and with Aftermarket fans outrun any other AIO on the market no problem.

why else would he be so focused on the H80? And where do you get the sabertooth and 650d info from? o.O

I have seen him making 3 threads on 1 computer. Saw it on his profile

I'm saying the price isn't much more for the extra performance and upgrade-ability

voltages play the role in the heat output of your cpu,not the ghz. you can achieve 5ghz or 6hz if you want to if you can use vcore less than 1v.hell with that you can even use stock intel cooler.but if you have to pump through 2v just to get 4.5ghz,not even the best of radiators can help you with the cooling. so my advice would be get the best cooling that fits within your BUDGET and overclock it with as little vcore as you can for a stable system.

i will vote for the H100i if your case fits it. btw I am using NH-D14 and managed to get 4.8ghz on i5 2500k with ease.it all comes down to the voltage

its rather unlikely that he will get 4.8GHz on a haswell with Air though, just saying.

i know.i'm just saying.play with the voltage maybe he can achieve more than that 4.5ghz with no problem.I live in a tropical climate btw.normal room temp with no air-conditioning is around 33c. :D
