32" 4k vs 21:9 34" 3440X1440p monitor

Hello guys,

 

What would you recommend for casual programming and photoshop?

 

I prefer single monitor setup, so I have narraowed down my choices to following.

 

32" 4k ips vs 34" ultrawide 21:9 ips.

I was giving this some though earlier but if you want to use ultra wide can you just scale it on the 4k screen with a custom resoltuion and just have a smaller screen if need be? 3440x1440 is insanely expensive for some reason. But then again they are all IPS.

i voted 32 inch 4k.

 

just a quick comment here;

i personally would never go 2k or moe untill its just as cheap as current 1080.

right now i'd go with a more wendel from tech syndicate kinda setup, with all 1440+ screens. and the bottom being surround. but whutevs.

4k for sure. Too few games and programs scale to 21:9, it would just not be worth it.

Doesnt only the HUD not scale to 21:9?

I don't consider that a huge problem because that keeps it in your field of view.

I voted 21:9

 

Easier to run, and better field of view. Games that don't support are easily fixable 95% of the time with flawless widescreen or widescreen fixer.
