What would you do?

The Upgrade I would do is 5644kr and I don't know whether you can stretch to that. If you can I would do so. If you cannon then my recommendation would be to save up until you can afford it. The CPU upgrade I have in mind is the I5-4690k. The GPU upgrade which is the GTX 970 G1 Gaming is 2870kr. If I reduce the cost of the GPU to be within budget it's not much of a GPU upgrade and same for CPU, if I drop the CPU/motherboard to fit into the budget it's not that much of a CPU upgrade

Hello.

I am looking to upgrade my pc, but I don´t know what should be upgraded to get the best performance boost. This pc is mainly used for gaming so the upgrades are to hopefully give me more fps in games.

My Specs:
Tower: AvP Defender 200 K1
Motherboard: Asus m5a97 r2.0
CPU: fx 4300 @ 4.5Ghz
CPU cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer 13
GPU: Asus DC2 V2 Radeon HD 7870ghz @ 1150mhz and 5000mhz
HDD: WD blue 1Tb
Fans: jetflow 120
Ram: Patriot Viper 3 Series 8gb @ 1600mhz
PSU: cx 500
OS: win 8.1 64bit

My budget for my upgrading is 4500kr and I am going to be getting all of the parts from this shop:
komplett.dk

I would like to know what you guys would do to make this pc better, thanks.

@Norwegiantweaker

You say lol but at least one of those suggestions is bollocks and that is RAM. His RAM is perfectly fine.

@Jengo

If I were to upgrade this I would first go to an I5-4690k, Xeon E3-1231v3 or I7-4790k with a fitting motherboard (MSI Z97-G55 SLI, ASUS Z97-A/AR). Then I would look into getting a new GPU (GTX 970 or a priced down Sapphire Tri-x R9 290)

@Mush Brain

Why go for 4670k when the 4690k is superior in almost every way?

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

@Archangel1994

Thank you for the help.

If I get the 4690k, msi z97 gaming 5 and gtx 970 from msi I will be going over budget at 5500DKK instead of the 4500DKK I am aiming for.

CPU needs an upgrade first. Make that your priority. Then you can start upgrading GPUs.

You could upgrade in steps. First get the 4690k and Z97 motherboard, then save up a little until you can afford the GTX 970

@Archangel1994

Thank you very much, I shal save up and get those parts in a couple of months or so, who know, the prices might even drop a bit by then. Also, just to be sure, a cx500 wil be okay with the gtx 970 and 4690k?

If FPS is the focus...

The first and most important aspect of your system is the Video card.

Second is going to be the Processor, followed by everything else.
