plug in the PWR switch and put the rest of the RAM in..take a case fan..place it on the cooler fan..plug it into the cpu header..start the system..just till you see the fan spin longer than it did before..

Your best effort is the easiest thing to give to someone else..

my fans are 4-pin Molex fans... what do i do?

Well we need to see if your CPU is dead or the MB is dead..and that is not an easy thing to do without a spare CPU or MB...

i plugged the fan into my power supply but it didn't change anything. neither did the ram

also i noticed the little kinda tick sound (kinda like a zap) only happens when i switch the power supply off and on.

Can you attach the PC speaker.?

it remains "on" for a split second. enough to get the fans spinning. yes i have a speaker and yes i have another PSU

Great . Use the speaker..and plug in the other PSU..I am hoping that it is the PSU and not the CPU..

sorry this may take a while cuz i found out the other PSU i have only has 20 pins for its power connector so currently im taking out my sister's PSU

While you swap PSU's..pull out the CMOS battery..and see if it dry underneath...LOL..what a great sister !!..

That's not the reason at all. Computers can turn on and POST without a storage drive connected.

only thing i noticed as i was trying to turn on my PC is the light on the back of the power supply turns off when i try to turn my PC on

i think it might be my PSU that's dead because i just tried to turn my sisters computer on with my PSU and it made the same kind of like a Tick noise.

Okay. Try putting your PSU into your sister's computer, and see if her computer turns on.

this is really weird though.... my power supply on my computer doesn't work, my sister's power supply on my computer doesn't work, my power supply on her computer doesn't work, but her power supply on her computer works.. so theoretically speaking shouldn't her power supply work on my computer?
