Android 5.0 Lollipop. Bugs? Should I update?

Hi there!

This past couple of days i have been reading some news report about the new Android 5.0 Lollipop update having trouble connecting to WiFi networks on the Nexus 5.

I just got the notification on my Nexus 5 that I can (finally) download the new version but I am not sure if I should update.

Are these bugs fixed yet? Should I update my Nexus 5 to the new version?

Please help.

Thanks.

Yes. Its probably not every Nexus 5 on the planet that is affected and even if yours is it will be fixed in no time if it hasn't already.

Bug was fixed during the week delay if I'm not mistaken. It's been fine on my Nexus 5.

I have found some articles that explain what I asked in the first post:

This is a thread on the Android Central Forums: http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-7-tablet-2013/462154-big-problem-my-nexus-7-android-5-0-a.html

Here is an article: http://www.ibtimes.co.in/when-will-google-fix-android-5-0-lollipop-issue-faced-by-nexus-5-users-614120

Does anyone know if they are fixed yet?

The articles above explain that the bug was discovered after the OTA release of Android Lollipop.

Ok, I am now writing from my Nexus 5 updated to Android Lollipop. I have had zero problems as of now. If I have any problems in the near future I'll let you know.

As far as I know, there are no Lollipop factory images for the Xperia Z2, sorry mate

You could try flashing one of the AOSP Lollipop ROMs from XDA, but lots of stuff still doesn't work

  • 3 weeks later...

My Nexus 5 is fine on lollipop with the exception of the multitasking/overview bug.

My only problem with lollipoop (not a typo) is some little UI changes feel like a step backwards from KitKat in terms of functionality (only Bothers me when i notice).

But overall a nice change to Material Design over Holo.
