Bigger Resolution or Bigger Refresh Rate?

DimasRMDO
Go to solution Solved by smjpl,

For most people 60hz is enough. Resolution is where it's at. Rog swift is best of both. 1440p, 144hz and gsync. Not a bad tn panel for colours too. Expensive though. But less expensive than 4k due to less gpu horsepower required.

It's hard to choose one.... Any suggestion guys?

Depends on what resolution and FPS we're talking about..

I want to go for 144Hz first, before 4K or maybe 1440p

I'd go for higher refresh rate, for resolution, if you are Nvidia user, you can use DSR, or other downsampling for AMD user, but you can't make your refresh rate go higher than stock, not without dangerous way.

if by bigger resolution you mean 4k, I'd go for higher refresh rate. I use a 1080p, 144hz display btw

Depends what you are talking about...

For me, 60Hz is enough, so I would pick higher resolution.

it's just personal preference... i currently use a 4K screen but i would definitely swap this for a ROG swift

Well, as currently higher refresh rate = not TN. It has to be resolution.

I don't know. I'm very intrigued by both. Would like a combination of both, aka the Swift. Though I want IPS and 21:9. That is just not possible yet though. Bring on OLED.
