Don't know where you're getting your info but I've had a watercooled i5 at 4.8Ghz, sound card, network card, highly highly highly overclocked MSi twin frozr 7950 that uses the 7970 PCB (think it was like 1320Mhz on the core), 3 HDD's, 840 evo, about 6 fans, and an old dvd drive in my old system with a CX750m psu and only pulled high 400's from the wall. Travis has a ton more room left with that 650w.

And mine is 80+ Gold, so high load is kinda nice.

but hes got a 480 and 7950 that chugs power and only a 650w

480's don't actually draw that much power... I will agree that they have the core of a sun in them.

 

So lets add it up, Travis has about 450-475w worth of gpu's in his system. The entire rest of his system draws probably 90w. I fail to see how he is getting close to that 650w gold rated limit. Could he add another gpu, hell no. But for a water pump and a few more fans he has plenty of room.

nice work! I am really wishing you get your 212 for Christmas ,looks so empty with that stock cooler.

 

whats your current OC on your cpu? 

4.2GHz @ 1.1v. Max temp with shit thermal paste is about 65C, but that's with the fan cranked to 11.

Why a 22 inch TV, you could get a 24 inch hdmi monitor for that price. Also, the monitor comes with hdmi cables.

You're out of context without a quote. But, I need a TV so I can use my PS2 and maybe cable if I get it in my room. Not to mention I can use it as another monitor. And a 22" will fit better on my desk (now that Athena is at my grandma's, I finally have a desk... Of course).

That's great to hear! I miss my PS2, it died after my house flooded 3 years ago. Also, the cheapest place to get hdmi cables is eBay, but make sure that you don't buy them from Hong Kong as the shipping takes too long.

but hes got a 480 and 7950 that chugs power and only a 650w

I once used an 8800GTS as a space heater with my old PSU (Coolmax 500w. Not 80+ or anything.) along with the rest of my hardware just fine.

 

Travis's setup is perfectly fine.
