Planning a New Gaming Build

TheLunarHero

What do you guys think of this build for a budget minded gamer?

MSI R9 290X Lightning - $390

Windows 8.1 - $100

NZXT S340W - $75

WD Blue 1TB - $55

EVGA Supernova 750W PSU - $60

Patriot Viper LP 8GB RAM - $90

Asus Z97-A LGA 1150 - $140

Intel i5 4690k - $240

Phanteks 140mm CPU Cooler - $75

I'm primarily concerned with in game performance, not loading performance (Hence no SSD). Thanks for your input.

Do you have a Micro Center near you? They have great deals on CPU and motherboard combos. Also, if you buy one of those combos, you get like 10 bucks off some as well as 10 off an ssd. I know you don't really want an ssd but if you bought it then, you would save 10 bucks.

Is the 980 worth it? I feel like it is just like the 780ti when it first came out. Sure it's better than the 970 but $200 better?

imo its worth the money but some may disagree

that build would be better with a 970 (price performance wise)
