I am new the the PC building world and am planning to build my first one soon. I have chosen the parts but would them looked over by others. I have a budget of 1800 AUD including monitor and windows. I think i have a good build going but if you have any ideas or recommendations for it I would love to hear them.

I'd go for a GTX 970 over the R9 290.  Same price with way better performance.  Plus, you'll be able to save on your power supply as the 970 requires way less power.

Looks good, the only thing I'd consider is getting an 850w psu so you could XFIRE should you choose to.

Very similar performance* and the 970 is more than likely quite a bit more expensive, just like it is everywhere else. Although the extra cost difference will cancel out after like 2~ years of use as it would be more efficient.

I'd go with an 840 evo instead of the 520

an Enthoo Pro rather than an Enthoo Luxe (the difference isn't worth $60 imo)

and i'd consider getting an EVGA G2 850w (that way you can XFIRE should you choose to).

For the HDD, get this and for cases this one or this one are really good and cheaper. Both parts I suggested are cheaper than the parts you had on the build and possibly better. As for the OS, I know a lot of people condone piracy including me on certain scenarios, but you really are saving $115 that could go towards improving your build.
