yeah it is pretty sketchy how the sumo wrestler had support from the two people. Even if it was for balance, but still it was clear that he was pushing some weight onto them.

We've been using Line-X on our truck beds for over 5 years now... pretty sure it was around well before that as well.

Sounds too good to be true, so I am skeptical.

The energy has to go somewhere, and such a thin coat just seems far too small for me to actually absorb the impact. I wouldn't be surprised if the egg, block and all the other stuff they tested broke on the inside but looked like they were undamaged on the outside.

 

Might work for buildings but yeah, I am skeptical.

but that is the point, it ok it gets damaged on the inside it the structure stays intact.

Yeah doesn't look legit to me.

 

As Lawlz has already said, the object would be shattered on the inside, this rubbery stuff just holding it together, making the object broken and useless. 5 times stronger than steel? Pfft, I doubt it.

That sumo wrestler bit was clearly rigged. The rubber won't provide any strength, it's supposed to be flexible and stretchy. At the most, those cups would just spring back up after they get crushed. There's no way they could have held him up.

Regarding energy...

It seems that the coating causes an elastic collision instead of an inelastic collision. At the molecular level, the coating could somehow convert most of the kinetic energy into heat at the point of impact.

 

I'm not an materials scientist, but a studying for mechanical engineering. That is honestly the best way I could think of it working.

It the context of the video's it is because they are talking about collisions. The same concepts and ideas don't work with punctures, which is what you are talking about.

Yeah. I've seen hunting vehicles coated with it so you never have to worry about scratches and stuff from driving through the woods. Awesome stuff.

 

Always thought Rhino Liner was better though.

Ketchup is better than mustard.
