Anyone have a good experience with an amd cpu and planetside 2?

Agent181

I know planetside is optimized for intel but has anyone had a good experience with an amd one and not like the posts that it sucks?

amd cpus work fine with planetside 2, I cant even tell the diffrence between them and intel ones, if there is a difference its probably no more than a few fps depending on the cpu

apparently it was patched a while back, of course much like skyrim and arma3 this news will fly past everyone and itll continue to be known as a badly coded pos regardless.

It's completely fine on my FX 8320, with a 6950 GPU with high detail settings. However, I run 1680x1050 (16:10), so I can usually run games at higher detail settings.

Edit: Typo

Stoke me a clipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

They work great, SOE released a patch a year ago to use all 8 cores, and I think it might even be able to do 12.

When PlanetSide 2 was in beta having an AMD CPU was a crippling fate. It would rarely go over 40fps at any resolution on my 8350/7970 setup. They fixed it a while ago and almost all decent AMD systems (6300 or above I'd say) work fine now though. Still not quite as good as Intel systems in performance though. Worries me about the PS4 version though.

They're working on more patches, the game's becoming more and more threaded.

Sometime mid 2015 I believe. It will be playable at the Sony Experience event soon I guess.

Is Planetside 2 that good that you'd be willing to change your entire build because it isn't/wasn't well optimized for AMD?

CPU: i7-4770K  Cooler: NZXT X60  GPU: Asus GTX 770 2GB  MB: Asus Maximus VI Hero  RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600MHz  PSU: Be Quiet! 630 Watt  Case: NZXT H440

It's that good.

While it does have problems, the epic multi-HUNDREDS of player battles make it worth it.
