I <3 DFI

ALXAndy

I still have my DFI LanParty NF4 Ultra-D, it works like new too and is dead silent since the chip set fan died in 2009. I have all the cables it came with here somewhere and it's box is still on display on my shelf! :)

Can't wait to see how this turns out! GL

Thanks. Well I pushed on and have now fitted the GPU fans, as well as wrapped the GPU parts that I did not want to paint. It's only the rear shield now and the GPU will be complete.

OK so the first real update. The DFI modding kit came, along with two lovely orange SATA cables.

And here is where I am at with the GPU, starting with the back.

DSC00302_zps79c952a3.jpg

And the front.

Once the back plate is done I can get it all bolted back together.

Time for some fun, if you can call it that.

And the top. Note - it's not finished yet I still have the TFIII logos to cut.

And a quick one round the back...

And it's safe to say, me and this plotter are getting along fine :)

Thanks man. Yeah gotta say, for the tiny details it's plotter FTW. No way I could have done them without it.

All done now

Sillouette Portrait. I bought mine direct, £125.

Still quite expensive but much more acceptable than £300+. What's great is that it will feed directly with a A4 sheet of vinyl, which costs 99 pence. I have about half of it left, GPU is done. The bigger plotters need to be fed a 1m wide sheet, which would cost a fortune.

Quick update.

So all of the plugs I ordered came.

DSC00318.jpg

I also ordered a 140mm orange Cougar fan for the front.

I've set up an RMA with the motherboard for a refund and re-ordered the B85N Phoenix. I did think about using the all black one but tbh I really had my heart set on the Phoenix, given it lights up and has orange bits on it :D

OK so it was time to design and cut the Lanparty logo. First up I designed my black parts..

blackparts.png

Send to the plotter...

1.jpg

Load the yellow.. As you can see, X8 is now a very busy little computer :)

2.jpg

And cut.

3.jpg

OK here's the orange bit.

orangeparts.png

And cut.

5.jpg

OK now, mask the yellow and prepare the black.

6.jpg

Merge.

7.jpg

Get rid of the masking.

8.jpg

Add black layer two.

9.jpg

Decal orange, orange decal..

10.jpg

And finished.

Poppycock ! I had a stock standard EVGA on a Antec Kuhler 620 hit 960mhz lmao.

Remember - they don't have the throttle that the 570 had ;)

These cards were built to break world records. got a LN2 switch on it too.

480 @ 920mhz

3dm11900mhz.jpg

R6970 Lightning @ 1030mhz

3dm11-3.jpg

Radeon 7970 @ 1100mhz

7970-1.jpg

GTX 670 @ 1100mhz

Untitled_zps66fec388.jpg

Somehow I seem to have lost the 960mhz score, but IIRC it was over 7000.

Now think about that for a moment... GTX 480 less than 10% slower than a overclocked 7970. That's impressive ;)

Why does the 670 have such a low Physics score?

Why does the 670 have such a low Physics score?

Because it was running with a Xeon E3 1220.
