Ubisoft is going downhill, and they can't top far cry 2. It still plays better than far cry 3, aged better, and does't look like I stepped into the world of call of duty again.

Somewhat torn... FC1 was fucking awesome, FC2 was alright, FC3 took forever to be released and was awesome. But this soon after FC3, we already get FC4? Somewhat looks like they will be shitting them out like AC or CoD or something, which really isn^t a good thing...

Far Cry 3 was good but ubisoft has just done and said soooo many stupid things and expects everyone to just forget about it and accept it. Not bloody likely.

If Far Cry 4 is good, then fine. But I still don't like it.

I dont care if it's the game of a lifetime, I will not but it, or at least not buy it new or pirate it. I will not give Ubisoft any money. Not after this.

"With Unity less than two weeks away, I thought now would be a great time to pay tribute to Patrice Désilets, the man who made this franchise happen.

In the mid 2000s, when Desiléts was tasked with creating a reboot of Prince of Persia he ended up making something entirely different. This game came to be known as "Assassin's Creed". Désilets was enamored with his creation and laid out his vision for the franchise rather quickly.

The first and second games in the series followed this vision entirely, but what followed was a big departue. Since the beginning Désilets had intended the series to be a trilogy. Assassin's Creed II would be followed directly by Assassin's Creed III. This final game in the series' current arc would focus almost entirely on Desmond as a full blown Assassin, something many fans had been calling for.

However, the higher-ups at Ubisoft had something different in mind. They made the decision to make the series an annualized franchise. Désilets wasn't having it, and left the company out of spite in 2010. He then started working at THQ, where he would be making a new project. It would have become a spiritual successor to Assassin's Creed, titled "1666".

Unfortunately, THQ went under and Patrice, his team and game were picked up by Ubisoft. After just a couple of months, they fired him and kept his project, presumably either throwing it away or absorbing it into AC. Tl;dr: Ubisoft's biggest "crime" has nothing to do with resolutions. Patrice Désilets is the real MVP, and deserves much more respect."

From /u/UsedUserName1 [1] in /r/assassinscreed[2] .

EDIT:Some more info on him being fired By /u/PartyPoison98 [3] :

On May 07, 2013, Désilets again left Ubisoft. When asked why, Désilets replied, "Contrary to any statements made earlier today, this morning I was terminated by Ubisoft. I was notified of this termination in person, handed a termination notice and was unceremoniously escorted out of the building by two guards without being able to say goodbye to my team or collect my personal belongings. This was not my decision. Ubisoft's actions are baseless and without merit. I intend to fight Ubisoft vigorously for my rights, for my team and for my game."

I'm feeling you there. I just got home from PAX Aus, and I was a little disappointed by some of the games on show. Nintendos stuff was awesome, and the indie games were fun as well, but even at the Bethesda booth with Battlecry, it wasn't really giving me much excitement

Not since this:

And this: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/30-far-cry-4-season-pass-announced-includes-multip/1100-6423065/

And since playing it at Eurogamer Expo where it was essentially just Far Cry 3 with almost zero new gameplay mechanics or features (in the demo I played at least - of course there could be new things that weren't in the demo but surely the demo is supposed to pull you in and show off new stuff, no?).

I loved Far Cry 3 but i don't love Far Cry 4's $75 USD price tag on steam for Aussies, it would be fine if that was Australian currency but its not i already pay 10% more when i load money onto my Steam wallet as it is. Its ridiculous how much more Aussies pay for stuff

The next WoW expansion is super close so i will be busy leveling anyway so i guess i will grab Far Cry when its on sale.
