So what is this?

 

This is an opportunity to do a LIVE Q&A session with one of the marketing experts at Cooler Master: Rajiv Kothari. He and Linus have connected already briefly and aside from trade secrets, you guys are welcome to ask any questions you want about their product, the development cycle, and what it's like behind the scenes working at Cooler Master

 

The live Q&A and feedback session on October 30th, 2014 at 11am Pacific time

 


 

This will be a great opportunity to talk about your ideas, ask questions, and give feedback on Cooler Master's cooling products - particularly their Nepton series liquid coolers! We will also chat about their awesome customer education program, Cooler Master University.

 

Not only that, but we'll be giving away a Cooler Master product on the show - a Nepton 240M liquid cooler!

 

It will be streamed at http://twitch.tv/linustech, and the giveaway we're running is for LIVE VIEWERS ONLY.

 

The main topic of the stream is basically up to you guys and we'd love to see you post your ideas in this thread ahead of time so we can figure out how to structure this to make it as entertaining and educational as possible!

 

We want this to be a lot of fun and super interactive, so please post your ideas in this forum thread. Linus will definitely be taking more suggestions during the show as well, but it's great to have a starting point.. Folks who post in the thread versus trying to get their questions featured live *will* have a bit of an advantage!

 

How do I win the swag?

 

The winner will be chosen randomly from the live viewers of the stream during a random period, so make sure you're paying attention!

 

1. Make sure you're registered for Linus Tech Tips forum and signed in while you're watching the live stream

2. Make sure you're watching from somewhere that you'll have access to a browser

3. Tune into the stream right at the beginning and make sure you're paying attention!

Howdy!  My question is if there is a chance for a 55g Novatouch down the line?  I'm a strong advocate and user of MX Clear's and Green's as the heavier feel improves accuracy and speed when typing for myself - I'm curious if the Topre Novatouch will get a 55g version ^_^

I am at a LAN-Party the whole day which has no Internet so i am not going to be there but I still have a question. What jobs do they offer for people and what kind of education would they like to see for future employees ? I still hope you guys will upluad it to Youtube so that i can see it later :)

Will they be adding new cases to the cosmos line i love the look and build quality of the cosmos 2 full tower but its too big and too expensive for my taste the se tower is ok but doesn't do the job for me, can or will they make something with the simple clean flat line style of an h440 but with that bulk industrial look of a cosmos but with a price tag that won't break the bank.

Are CoolerMaster thinking to make a new case with dual chamber design ? the CM haf XB was good and with evo version even better but we like to see somthing with a vertical design much like Fractal Design Node 304 or Corsair Carbide Air 240. somthing between the Cooler Master Elite 130 and the Haf XB Evo. I love the looks of the cosmos II but I am wondering if there is a better or similar case for the price. I love cooler master cases and cooling solutions they definitely know what they are doing.

As new components are getting steadily more efficient and produce less heat do we really need overly exotic cooling down the pipeline or are we also going to start seeing a smaller demand for powerful cooling in PC's and instead exotic cooling will be a server thing only? Also have you guys done any experimentation with cooling other than liquid/air cooling such as phase changing cooling? It should allow for much more consistent temperatures, but then again I'm not the expert ;).

Phase change cooling is super cool (hooray puns!), but it's not terribly efficient on a mechanical level. Have you seen phase change cooling systems for CPUs? They're like a mini-ITX case on their own. The hardware necessary for an effective phase change system is quite simply too big (because of the compressor), and closely mirrors what is already done in cooling (radiators, heat transfer liquids, etc).

 

A big phase change system may have the ability to consistently get extremely low temperatures, but its size plus the cost of materials for insulation hardly make it worthwhile. Why spend a few hundred dollars on something that basically uses evaporation to cool, when vapor chambers and the much more common heatpipe technology already does the same thing at a dramatically smaller size and cost?

 

As far as I know, phase change cooling systems are used for extreme processor cooling, for things like super computing and whatnot. As consumer-level processing gets more heat and power efficient, it actually strengthens the argument against phase-change systems and for things like smaller air coolers.

I actually know-how is expensive, but considering the quantity of products you're actually throwing to the market, don't you think that lowering a bit the final pricepoint would get your sales going up and up? I don't really get how on earth is possible to spend 200$ on a 10-keyless keyboard which has NONE OF THE FEATURES offered by other producers, sometimes at lower price points.
