For a long time... Even if 4K becomes so mainstream...

The bigger question is when will "1366x768 VGA" die?

Might be a jump straight past it to 4k, it'll end up like 720p was for TV

When ISPs and TV providers stop twiddling their thumbs, we will have 1440p and 4k in every home.

I could be very wrong

Once 1600x900 dies.

Hey, I still haven't adopted 1080p.

I do have a 1080p TV, but I play on a 1280x1024 monitor...

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

When HP stops making crappy laptops, the resolution on their pavilion laptops are 1366 by 768.

As soon as all content is released in 4K at the moment 4K movies and TV shows are pretty rare.

Why does everyone think that resolution is so bad? I have an older 18.5" samsung monitor that is 1360x768 and i see no problems with it.

Try to watch some videos (like YouTube videos for example): on 720p quality it looks a little unsharp, and 1080p is pointless, and makes smaller text hard to read (still talking about videos). There's no in-between. Pick your poison, either 1280x720 or 1920x1080.

Mainstream will skip 1440p and go strait to 4k

well thats in terms of consumers and their tv's. i mean gamers and all that. surely i can imagine 1440p becoming mainstream before 4k, no?

Never noticed it. I also have a 23" 1080p monitor, and, IMO, videos don't look any worse on my 1360x768 screen. And I have pretty decent vision.
