Higher stock clock speeds, more consistent overclocking, better power delivery, and better thermals. Those are the differences that I know of.

at its most basic.. the 4790k will generally run cooler and overclock higher. its essentially a haswell refresh to improve the thermal compound between the die and heatspreader. Comes clocked higher out of the box as well other then that they are pretty much the same thing

Devil's Canyon chips are generally better overclockers compared to Haswell, they also run cooler. Keep in mind with 8 series boards you'll need a BIOS update tho

Desktop: Intel Core i5 2380P (2400 w/o iGPU), MSI H61, 8GB RAM, 256GB SP610, 500GB WD Blue, HIS R9 280, Antec TruePower Classic 550W, Inwin MANA 134, QNIX QX2710, CM QuickFire Rapid, Logitech G402

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L40D, AMD A6-6310, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Radeon R4 Graphics, 14" 1366x768

Phone: iPhone 6 Space Gray 64GB, T-Mobile $60/mo 3GB plan

you are good to go on Z97. once booted, then look to UEFI/BIOS updates for stability.

If your looking to get new then for sure get the 4790k, its better overclocking, lower temps, more stable, and has a new interface detection technology. and its basically the same if not cheaper price. so DC for sure

got to love Asus components
