New build list advice

Hi All,

 

I'm in the processes of building a new high end rig based on the latest components on the market. 

 

The purpose of this rig is to have a fast, high quality machine that runs quietly and will last at least 5 years. I'd like to use it for day to day office use, media editing and of course running awesome PC games at full settings.

 

Before I make my purchases on the components, i'd really like your advice / opinion on the parts i've chosen. I'm open minded and would be willing to compromise or swap components out in favour of other parts if you have a good reason for doing so. Also, id like to know that all the parts im buying are highly compatible and ill be getting the most out of the components.

They are:

 

CPU - Intel core i7 4770K

Motherboard - Asus Z87-Deluxe socket 1150

GPU - EVGA Nvidia GTX 780 

Power - Corsair TXM 850W Modular

RAM - Kingston HyperX Beast 16GB DDR3 1600MHZ

CPU Cooling - Corsair Hydro Series H100i

SSD - Samsung 240GB 840 Series SSD

 

I've already bought the case (Corsair Obsidian 550D) and have a new 1TB HDD for extra storage.

I will be looking to over clock once it's built.

 

Current cost is coming out at £1,511.17 ($2400 USD roughly)

Got a cheaper motherboard. Haswell overclocking is more dependent on the chip and less on the motherboard. You can get decent overclocks on just about any z87 board.

Got 2 sticks of cheaper ram. It leaves room for more ram if you want. 

Cheaper and lower psu. The txm 850 is overkill. A cx600 is good enough for a single 780. If you're planning on sli, a 750w will do.

The 850 wasn't much more expensive than the 750 so what the hey?

 

 

I prefer semi modular since you'll use the cords up anyway and it saves space for the ones you use.

I'm not sure about the semi-modular 750w one but the modular 850w is.
