Motorbikes

Mac

Yeah I love light bikes. Looks super slick. Plus its the R version, much bonus points for the better suspension.

I love everything about this bike. Fantastic fueling on/off throttle, effortless turn in into corners, well mannered for city riding, intoxicating induction sound starting at 8K RPMs...

The only two complaints I have so far are the tiny turn signal switch and this engine runs HOT. Almost burned my leg on it yesterday. Granted I'm ~60 miles into ownership but I doubt my complaints will grow any more.

The only thing I don't like about those bikes is the headlights.... Looks way better like this, IMO:

1139CB39-BD14-4343-9A3E-D32546E692CE-110

I was the same way but these headlights have a habit of growing on you. Plus the amount of light output on these things... I rode with my high beam on all the time on my FZ and there wasn't much difference between that and the low beam.

The striple on the other hand is blinding with the high beams on. I have as much visibility with those on as I do in my car. I had to turn them off for fear of blinding other people.

Was interesting today: first half of the day was practice under the instructions of top riders. One of them told me that about 60-70 percent of every day riders can't even do a figure eight smoothly... Just a shame IMO.

When I get round to doing my CBT and taking my A2 test, I plan on buying a Honda CBR500r or a Yamaha YZF-R3.

I'm pretty tall (6'5"), so I'm going to have to make sure they're not too small for me xD

Good to know. I've got to say, I prefer the look of the Honda, and I think it's a slightly bigger bike, but the insurance on the R3 is a fair bit cheaper.

That lines up with what I hear/read. Anyone that size no longer has the excuse of saying that small bikes don't fit large people.

Lovely bike and welcome to the thread. Your friend behind you in that picture looks pretty fast and confident in that corner.

Count yourself fortunate on the no accidents part. I've lowsided twice now, none of them serious or involving other vehicles fortunately.

Yeah she is lol. She is really confident. Damn that sucks. At least you are fine. The r6 was a huge upgrade from my 250 so I really cautious because I was not use to huge hp gain.

Thank you
