How I Clocked my 'Locked' i5 4690 (Non-K) past 4.15Ghz
OLD POST now with an Update
I'm still using this All-in-One Cooler from Intel (All my friends said it would die within a year lol)
The included fan, DIED within a month of normal usage at variable set speeds.
The Rest has been Cherry!
Have since upped from the i5 4690 Bclk'd to 4Ghz (60*c Avg 70*c Max) to a i7 4790K, upped that to 4.5Ghz (AllcoreTurbo/Daily Driver Clockspeeds) and upped the Cache to 4.4Ghz,.... I maintained 4.8Ghz /w 4.2Ghz Cache but the tradeoff heat was too much for the little AIO.
Anything under 1.3v is too easy, but 4.8Ghz requires a bit more than that...I saw 84*c spikes time to time.. as where 4.7Ghz Hardly broke 80*c maybe on one core...if at all.
This AIO cooler is due to be replaced maybe, I don't know, it still performs, but is now 3 years old.
So this revival isn't wasted.
What are your best 4790K clocks/settings?
