Ableton Live master race. FL Studio peasant race.

I Use Ableton Live, but FL studio is easy to learn and is great for beginners.

i was watching some vidoes, the akai mini mk2 looks like a good start, how do i get all the different sorts of sounds, cos i want to make dance music with it, do i have to get a plugin, and what software for beginners?
