Installing a sound/SSD/capture card on a x16 pci-e slot possible?

The question is the title... Do I really need a x1 or x4 pcie slot on my mb to install one of those??

Yes, installing it in a full x16 PCI-e slot will work just fine. It just doesn't have the pins to connect to the rest of the slot. The slot will operate just fine with only the pins on the sound card to connect to.
