Scrap my 770 and get a 780ti/980?

With the new release of the 980 I'm looking at a bit of an upgrade in the future. My question being, should I sell my 770 (Works perfectly fine very good condition) and upgrade to a 780ti/980, OR get a second 770 and run SLI?

770 SLI will get better performance in SLI-supported games, but the 980 will be far, far more power efficient, run cooler and you'll be able to SLI it in the future.

If you actually need to upgrade then get a 970. Otherwise your 770 is perfectly capable.

the 970 is hardly a step up from the 770

not worth the upgrade IMO

The GTX 970 is 35% faster across the board. That's a significant upgrade.

 

but he'd have to sell the 770, which he would probably get $220 for

so he'd be paying $330 plus tax and shipping for 35% more performance

im selling my sli 770s and getting a 980 :P mainly because i need more vram and want to create a smaller system.

If your 770 alone isn't enough, you should get another 770. It will do better in games that support SLI well, but in ones where they don't, the 980 will kill it.

770 is still fantastic. In fact, I wouldn't recommend upgrading unless you have something less than a 660Ti

Why not wait for caspal? From kepel that would make more sense if your 770 is fine.
